Division Spotlight
Operations & Power
Members focus on the dissemination of knowledge and information in the area of power reactors with particular application to the production of electric power and process heat. The division sponsors meetings on the coverage of applied nuclear science and engineering as related to power plants, non-power reactors, and other nuclear facilities. It encourages and assists with the dissemination of knowledge pertinent to the safe and efficient operation of nuclear facilities through professional staff development, information exchange, and supporting the generation of viable solutions to current issues.

Disney World should have gone nuclear
There is extra significance to the American Nuclear Society holding its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, this past week. That’s because in 1967, the state of Florida passed a law allowing Disney World to build a nuclear power plant.

Unifying Theory and Experiments in the 21st Century

Physor 2016 will take place at the Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, ID. Group rates of $104.00 plus a 6% resort fee and 12% tax are available Saturday, May 30 through Wednesday, May 4. Check-in time is 4:00pm. Check-out time is 11:00am. Group rates will be honored three days prior and three days following the conference dates based on availability. Reservations can be made by calling 800-786-8259 or reservations@sunvalley.com. Guests should be identified as part of the American Nuclear Society, Physor 2016 Meeting. All reservations must be confirmed 30 days prior to the meeting date to secure the group rate. After this time rooms will be accepted on a space available basis.
