NRC reorganization update: Changes will begin this summer
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is moving forward with its plans to reorganize around three core business lines: new reactors, operating reactors, and nuclear materials and waste. In order to do that, the agency will establish two new offices: the Office of Advanced Reactors (OAR) and the Office of the Chief Nuclear Reactor Inspector (CNRI).

RepoTREND is a new simulator designed to model the processes in a final repository for radioactive waste in different geological formations. RepoTREND provides functionalities for simulating the release of contaminants and their migration through the near-field and far-field to the biosphere, including the estimation of the radiological consequences for a human and the environment. In order to allow the statistical analysis of the models which are implemented in RepoTREND, a new concept named RepoSTAR was developed and realised as the statistical framework of RepoTREND. This paper provides a brief overview of RepoTREND.
