BWXT will scout potential TRISO fuel production sites in Wyoming

An (α, n) neutron source containing 0.63 g of highly purified 244Cm as the oxide and a 100:1 atom ratio of Be to Cm has been prepared. It emits 1.25 (±0.06) × 108 n/sec, corresponding to 66 n/l06 alpha particles.
