Uranium-232 production has been calculated in a 1200-MW(e) liquid-metal fast breeder reactor as a function of position, time, and core composition. Whenever thorium is present in the core, large quantities of 232U relative to uranium (∼1000 ppm) are generated, For 232U generated in the blanket, production is on the order of 50 ppm.
