Molten salt research is focus of ANS local section presentation
The American Nuclear Society’s Chicago–Great Lakes Local Section hosted a presentation on February 27 on developments at the molten salt research reactor at Abilene Christian University’s Nuclear Energy Experimental Testing (NEXT) Lab.

Infinite medium solutions of the transport equation are used to obtain two integrals of this equation, to express the asymptotic approximation to the solution of Milne's problem, and to construct a variational trial solution. This solution is improved by one iteration. The linear extrapolation distance is expressed by the stationary value of the variational functional.
