Analysis of burnout heat flux is undertaken by considering the burnout heat flux to be the sum of the flux required to initiate nucleate boiling and of an incremental flux required to cause burnout. For data taken at a pressure of 2000 psia, the method of analysis correlated the majority of the data with an accuracy of ±17 per cent.
