The feasibility of the weighting technique to determine fast neutron capture cross sections when applied to NaI pulse-height measurements is investigated. This technique is applied to the measurement of the capture cross section of 181Ta at 0.5- and 3.0-MeV neutron energies. The results are compared with those obtained using the spectrum integrated method.
