Exciting scholarship opportunities await with ANS

The ANS Scholarship Program offers student members both merit- and financial need–based scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Thanks to our donors, the American Nuclear Society will be able to award over $250,000 to students for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Scholarship categories:

  • Two-year programs—for community college and trade school students.
  • Incoming freshman scholarships—for high school seniors pursuing a STEM degree with an interest in nuclear science and technology.
  • Diversity and inclusion scholarships—for applicants demonstrating exceptional financial need.
  • Undergraduate scholarships—administered by ANS divisions and local sections.
  • Graduate scholarships—also administered by ANS divisions and local sections.

New scholarships this year:

  • ANS Chicago–Great Lakes Local Section Scholarship—open to undergraduate and community college students in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
  • ANS Massimo Salvatores Memoriam Graduate Scholarship—supports the first two years of graduate studies in reactor physics.
  • ANS/ASME Barry Sloane Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship—for undergraduates with knowledge of risk-informed engineering.
