ANS is committed to advancing, fostering, and promoting the development and application of nuclear sciences and technologies to benefit society.
Explore the many uses for nuclear science and its impact on energy, the environment, healthcare, food, and more.
Division Spotlight
Young Members Group
The Young Members Group works to encourage and enable all young professional members to be actively involved in the efforts and endeavors of the Society at all levels (Professional Divisions, ANS Governance, Local Sections, etc.) as they transition from the role of a student to the role of a professional. It sponsors non-technical workshops and meetings that provide professional development and networking opportunities for young professionals, collaborates with other Divisions and Groups in developing technical and non-technical content for topical and national meetings, encourages its members to participate in the activities of the Groups and Divisions that are closely related to their professional interests as well as in their local sections, introduces young members to the rules and governance structure of the Society, and nominates young professionals for awards and leadership opportunities available to members.

Submittal instructions:
Please consider the scopes of the journals when deciding where to submit.
Nuclear Science and Engineering welcomes submissions that explore basic and fundamental research in all areas related to nuclear science and engineering.
Submit to NSE – Questions? Email nse@ans.org.
Nuclear Science and Technology Open Research welcomes submissions where authors prefer, or funders require, a fully open publication venue for research articles, and/or where authors would like to submit article types not typically supported by archival journals (e.g., brief reports, method articles, data notes, posters/presentations).
Submit to NSTOR – Questions? Email nstor@ans.org.
Thank you again for attending PHYSOR 2024, and we hope you participate in this special issue opportunity!
Our very best,
Massimiliano Fratoni, guest editor, PHYSOR 2024 general co-chair, maxfratoni@berkeley.eduChristopher Perfetti, guest editor, PHYSOR 2024 general co-chair, cperfetti@unm.eduEva Davidson, guest editor, PHYSOR 2024 technical program chairBrendan Kochunas, guest editor, PHYSOR 2024 technical program chairLuka Snoj, guest editor, PHYSOR 2024 technical program chairFarzad Rahnema, Nuclear Science and Engineering editor-in-chief, frahnema@outlook.com
The PHYSOR 2024 host city, San Francisco, California, is known for its rich history and diverse culture, gorgeous vistas, outstanding local wineries, and as one of the venture capital hubs of the world. We hope you can join us in this beautiful setting to enjoy a technical program full of cutting-edge research and exciting reactor technology developments.
Since the first PHYSOR conference in 1990, the conference has focused on reactor physics advancements and provided a platform showcase for pioneering concepts, methods, and products. As we leap forward to the future of nuclear technology, micro reactors, small modular reactors, advanced reactors, and high energy LWR fuel are at the forefront.
We look forward to joining together to celebrate reactor physics with the nuclear community in 2024!
