NRC okays construction permits for Hermes 2 test facility
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced yesterday that it has directed staff to issue construction permits to Kairos Power for the company's proposed Hermes 2 nonpower test reactor facility to be built at the Heritage Center Industrial Park in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The permits authorize Kairos to build a facility with two 35-MWt test reactors that would use molten salt to cool the reactor cores.

The Rookery
The 2024 ANS Utility Working Conference (UWC) Golf Tournament will be held at The Rookery at Marco starting at 8:30 am. This tournament is open to all conference attendees and guests.
Your foursome will be assigned after receipt of your registration and payment. You will be notified a week prior to the Tournament.
A $160 golf tournament fee is required from each UWC registered attendee. You may register your guest(s) for golf at a fee of $160 per person. The fee includes:
Club Rentals: $85+ tax (Six golf balls are included)
Transportation will be provided to/from the main hotel and The Rookery. Busses will leave from the San Marco entrance at 7:15am and will depart right after the Luncheon Award Ceremony.

The format of the tournament will be Best Ball Scramble. With this format each player will hit his/her drive. You select the best shot and everyone plays their next shot from that location. You continue this format until the ball is holed out.
We will make every attempt to have the teams evenly paired to keep the scores as competitive as possible. If you have someone that you wish to be paired with, please include during your registration.
If you are unable to participate in the golf tournament after you have registered, please contact the ANS Registrar at registrar@ans.org, immediately. No refunds will be issued after Friday, July 12; however, you may send a substitute. If you have any golf questions, please contact registrar.
