Devoted to all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle including waste management, worldwide. Division specific areas of interest and involvement include uranium conversion and enrichment; fuel fabrication, management (in-core and ex-core) and recycle; transportation; safeguards; high-level, low-level and mixed waste management and disposal; public policy and program management; decontamination and decommissioning environmental restoration; and excess weapons materials disposition.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has received a license application from Disa Technologies to use high-pressure slurry ablation (HPSA) technology for remediating abandoned uranium mine waste at inactive mining sites. Disa’s headquartersin are Casper, Wyo.

Increased competition for attracting nuclear talent has created a challenge for our industry to attract, develop, and most importantly, retain our most important asset, our people. This session will focus on common reasons why employees are leaving nuclear and explore ways to combat those reasons.
Presentation to include: trends on supply and demand, change in demographics, worker preferences (work-life balance, remote options), employer brand, competitive salaries, and hiring strategies.
LR: Legal Trends
The number of major strikes in the US rose to its second-highest level in two decades in 2022. Why does this matter and what should we know about recent cases that can help us avoid similar pitfalls? What are other current legal and organizing trends in this area?
The presentation will include case studies of recent labor disputes. What are the learnings and how can we avoid the same fate?
