Refueling and Maintenance Outage Costs have a remarkably wide range over the past couple of decades. The industry overall has improved from 100+ day outages to less than 20 days. More recently, most successful outages are in the high 20’s and low 30's in terms of days duration. We will analyze, evaluate and discuss motivating factors to changes in outage duration over time and potential consequences of those decisions. Macro approaches to changing durations will be discussed as well as specific process and technology improvements to improving outage durations.
Recommendations for the future direction of outage durations will be considered by the panel and session attendees.
