Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Please be aware that scammers may try to contact you regarding hotel rooms or attendee lists for the 2024 ANS Student Conference. ANS will never sell or rent lists and event attendees have the option to opt out of solicitation by sponsors and exhibitors. For housing, we encourage all attendees and exhibitors to register via the links on the Student 2024 website.
Please note that all correspondence about ANS business will come from ANS and, if by email, from the domain “ans.org.” or "cvent.com" If you receive correspondence that is not from ANS, it is likely a scam or a phishing attempt and you should ignore. Please contact ANS meetings with any questions or concerns.

- Can we receive professional development hours?
Contact meetings@ans.org to confirm.
- Is there a time limit to my presentation?
Most presentations are allowed 15 minutes with 5 minutes for Q&A. Please contact your chair ahead of time for specifics on your session.
- Is there a presentation template?
Yes, the PowerPoint Template is available on the Resources page of the meeting at which you will be presenting. Any questions, contact meetings@ans.org
- Do I Need to stay in the ANS hotel room block?
ANS has made every effort to secure the best possible nightly room rate for you at the hotel(s) listed on this website. That rate results from a negotiated overall package of event needs including but not limited to sleeping rooms, meeting room space and other requirements.
Please help ANS keep the costs of this event as low as possible by booking your housing needs at the host hotel and through the reservation process created by ANS. Reserving your rooms elsewhere means you are booking outside the contracted room block, jeopardizing ANS’ ability to meet its contracted obligations. Unfortunately, if this happens, event costs will continue to increase if ANS falls short of its minimum room block guarantee. ANS appreciates your support and understanding of this important issue. Thank you!
- Will Food Service be able to accommodate my Special Dietary Needs?
Yes. During registration, please check the box notating that you have special dietary requirements. All efforts will be made to satisfy needs. Please contact registrar@ans.org with any concerns.
- How Do I Communicate Accessibility Needs To the Conference Organizers?
Our goal is to ensure the ANS Winter Conference is accessible to everyone. When you register for the Conference, please check the box labeled "Do you have a disability or special need which requires additional support?" In your response, please indicate any accessibility needs such as wheelchair access, sign language interpretation, or a guide. If necessary, the ANS meetings team will follow up with you to clarify your needs. You can contact them directly at any time by emailing registrar@ans.org.
If there is specific accessibility information you would like to see here, or if you wish to discuss any Conference accessibility requirements, please contact our meetings team by email at meetings@ans.org and someone will respond to you shortly.
- Can I add my Itinerary to the calendar app on my phone, tablet or computer?
Yes. Clicking the “Subscribe to Your Itinerary Calendar” button should allow you to subscribe automatically using the default calendar app for the device. For example, on a Mac or iPhone, it will add it to the Calendar app. On an Android device, it will default to the Google Calendar. In Windows, it will most likely default to Outlook.
To add a feed to a particular application manually, you’ll first want to right-click the “Subscribe to Your Itinerary Calendar” button and select “Copy Link Address.” Then, you can follow the steps below:
Outlook:
- Go to: https://outlook.office.com/calendar/addcalendar
- Click “Subscribe from web”
- Paste the URL that was copied above (and select a name and color)
- The calendar feed should now appear in the Calendar screen in Outlook (though you may need to select the radio button next to it to enable the events)
Gmail/Google Calendar:
- Go to: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/
- Click the plus next to “Other calendars” and select “From URL”
- Paste the URL that was copied above and select “Add Calendar”
- Click the left arrow next to Settings in the top-right corner to exit Settings and return to the calendar
- If you’d like to change the name or color, you can click the dots next to the calendar in the left menu and adjust its “Settings”
MacOS Calendar:
- Go to File > New Calendar Subscription and paste the URL that was copied above
- Adjust the name, color, etc., as needed, and I would recommend using “Every hour” for the auto-refresh
- I just have a question. Who can help me?
Please email meetings@ans.org.
