Tennessee senators call on Trump to “rescue TVA from itself”
Hagerty
Blackburn
In a strongly worded opinion piece published by Power Magazine on March 24, Tennessee Sens. Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty call for new leadership at the Tennessee Valley Authority to jumpstart its small modular reactor program.
The GOP lawmakers are looking to President Donald Trump and Energy Secretary Chris Wright to overhaul TVA’s board of directors to drive America’s role in the nuclear renaissance. TVA is the first and only U.S. energy company to obtain an early site permit for a small modular reactor, but the utility has not progressed on physical deployment of a unit since the permit was awarded in 2019.
ANS has made every effort to secure the best possible nightly room rate for you at Huntsville Marriott at the Space & Rocket Center. That rate results from a negotiated overall package of event needs including but not limited to sleeping rooms, meeting room space and other requirements.
Please help ANS keep the costs of this event as low as possible by booking your housing needs at the host hotel and through the reservation process created by ANS. Reserving your rooms elsewhere means you are booking outside the contracted room block, jeopardizing ANS’ ability to meet its contracted obligations. Unfortunately, if this happens, event costs will continue to increase if ANS falls short of its minimum room block guarantee. ANS appreciates your support and understanding of this important issue. Thank you!
ANS does not sell or distribute attendees emails. Only open if from ans.org. If you get any questionable emails, please forward to your spam and notify registrar@ans.org.
NETS 2025 sessions and events will be in the Huntsville Marriott and also within walking distance at the Space and Rocket Center. The schedule notes which location it is in parenthesis after the room name. There will be signs directing you to the correct building at the Space and Rocket Center from the Huntsville Marriott Lobby. Remember to wear your wristband! The wristband in your registration bag grants you free entry to the Space and Rocket Center.
