The objective of the Griffin workshop is to provide participants with an introduction to and comprehensive understanding of advanced reactor simulation capabilities in Griffin. The workshop will primarily focus on fast reactor and thermal TRISO fuel (gas-cooled and molten-salt-cooled pebble type and gas-cooled prismatic type) reactor applications but will also briefly cover applications to other reactor types. It is a 4-hour-long session that will include:

  1. Overview of modeling and simulation of MOOSE-based codes including Griffin for advanced reactors,
  2. Mesh and cross section generation for fast reactors and thermal TRISO fuel reactors,
  3. Griffin reactor physics simulation for fast reactors and thermal TRISO fuel reactors,
  4. Multiphysics simulations of steady-state and transient conditions in fast reactors and thermal TRISO fuel reactors.
